Police car swept away by flooding in south east AucklandCHRIS SKELTON/FAIRFAX NZ Parents and students were evacuated from Camp Adair to nearby Hunua School due to sudden flooding on Wednesday morning. Two officers had to abandon their vehicle as it rapidly filled with water in Kawakawa Bay, in rural south Auckland. The vehicle was then swept away in flood waters - spot floods have hit across the upper North Island on Wednesday Morning. Counties Manukau South area commander, Inspector Mark Rowbottom, said the vehicle was hit with sudden flooding on Clevedon-Kawakawa Bay Rd at 1:30am.
