Two officers had to abandon their vehicle as it rapidly filled with water in Kawakawa Bay, in rural south Auckland. The vehicle was then swept away in flood waters - spot floods have hit across the upper North Island on Wednesday Morning. Counties Manukau South area commander, Inspector Mark Rowbottom, said the vehicle was hit with sudden flooding on Clevedon-Kawakawa Bay Rd at 1:30am.
