The Gujarat government received more income from tax payers after implementation of the GST. The Congress MLA from Talala Bhaga Barad had asked question to the minister during Question Hour in the state Assembly on Thursday. As per the reply filed by the government, the government had received income of Rs 28,246.71 crore during the equal period in previous year between August 1, 2016 and January 31, 2017. The MLA further asked that how much compensation the central government paid to the state government against the losses in tax income. Under this provision, the Gujarat government received Rs 2,534 crore as compensation.”GOVT’S REPLYAs per the reply filed by the government, it had received income of Rs 28,246.71 crore during the equal period in previous year between August 1, 2016 and January 31, 2017.
