Political strategist Prashant Kishor is close to firming up ties with the Congress ahead of the Assembly polls in five states scheduled for next year. Kishor has met Congress leader Rahul Gandhi at least thrice in the last one week and discussed the revival of Congress, according to sources. In 2022, Assembly elections will be held in Goa, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Manipur and Punjab. Recently he was appointed as the Principal Advisor by Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh ahead of the 2022 Assembly polls in the state. He helped Janata Dal (United) chief Nitish Kumar to win the Assembly polls in 2015.
