Training camp and the subsequent exhibition games gave fans the opportunity to see John Tavares in a Maple Leafs jersey, and Leafs Nation must still be pinching itself that the star signed in Toronto. He had three goals in the pre-season, and an amazing assist to set up Tavares against Detroit on Friday on that lethal power play. And, oh, that first power play: Tavares, Matthews, Marner, Nazem Kadri and Morgan Rielly ...“It’s pretty intimidating,” goalie Curtis McElhinney said. Now the penalty killing be as much fun to watch as the power play.
