The vacuum in coverage is increasingly being filled by state-approved content, sometimes offered for free.The pandemic offered China an opportunity to present a generous and humane face of itself. All but three of the countries that were surveyed received pandemic aid from China, in the form of personal protective equipment, medicines and treatment protocol. The figure was 34 per cent for non-recipient countries.The countries were asked to rate how the coverage of China has changed since the pandemic, on a scale of 1-10 (1 being very negative, 10 being very positive). Europe saw the biggest positive changes to China coverage, at a score of 6.3.
