LAHORE Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced the allocation of 3-5 acres of state land to poor people under the government’s new initiative Apna Khait, Apna Rozgar. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of electric bus services in Rajanpur, the chief minister said the Apna Khait, Apna Rozgar programme is aimed at ensuring sustainable livelihoods for underprivileged citizens and fostering inclusive development throughout Punjab. CM said that a total of 250,000 acres of state land would be distributed free of cost under ‘Apna Khet Apna Rozgar’ scheme. She added that electric buses would run on all routes in Rajanpur as part of a province-wide expansion plan, revealing that 1,100 additional electric buses were being inducted into the transport system. Maryam Nawaz said that the Punjab administration remained focused on social welfare, infrastructure development and equitable opportunities for all regions of the province.
