Photo: APP (file)The Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a weather alert forecasting widespread rain across the province from April 1 to 4. PDMA Director General Irfan Ali Kathia stated on Monday that rain is expected in most districts, including Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Sargodha, Mianwali, Sheikhupura, Gujrat, Khushab and Mandi Bahauddin. The authority issued instructions to commissioners and deputy commissioners across Punjab to remain on alert and ensure preparedness for any emergency situation. In its advisory, the PDMA urged citizens to take precautionary measures during thunderstorms, particularly avoiding open areas during lightning. The authority also cautioned tourists planning visits to northern areas to remain vigilant and follow safety guidelines during the period.
