RSPCA staff are threatening to strike, accusing bosses of bullying them into signing tough new contracts after the charity went into debt. The Unite union, which represents 700 of the 1,795 workers, called a ballot claiming that workers had been reduced to tears. The RSPCA has been plagued in recent years by concerns about over-zealous prosecutions, breaches of donors’ data protection and weak governance.
