Ramirez prefers Manila as SEA Games host cityA Malacañang official has told the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) to make a study if Davao City can host the 2019 Southeast Asian Games (SEAG) although the PSC chairman said it doesn’t look like venues would be in place in three years time. “The construction is in stages,” said Ramirez, who prefers Manila as host as everything is already in place. The idea of Davao City as host was proposed by officials of the Philippine Olympic Committee after Rodrigo Duterte was elected president. But the prospects of Davao City hosting the SEAG bring s a smile to Ramirez, who is a native son. Whether Davao City can take the place of Manila will be known within 30 days as commissioner Arnold Agustin has been assigned to conduct an inspection.
