6 USC came out with an 85-77 victory at Long Beach State in the Walter Pyramid Thursday afternoon. The Women of Troy needed someone to put the team on their back, and Harvard graduate transfer McKenzie Forbes stepped up to take that mantle. She scored 14 of her career-high 36 points in the final quarter to close out the game for the Women of Troy. Padilla made a pair of free throws, Forbes made three free throws and Makolo made a layup in the paint. USC turned up their defensive intensity as well, and Long Beach State finished the game missing all seven of its field goal attempts from the field.
