An American robin has been spotted on Wednesday. The American robin is a member of the thrush family and is much bigger than the British robin. It also shot to fame when twitchers spotted that the robin that landed on Mary Poppins' finger in the "Spoonful of Sugar" sequence was an American, not British, robin!
