John Hinckley JR, the gunman who shot Ronald Reagan just weeks into his first presidency, has been released from a Washington psychiatric hospital more than 35 years after the assassination attempt. Hinckley, 61, arrived at his mother’s home in Virginia yesterday after a judge ruled in July that he was no longer a danger to himself or the public.
