Jeeva Nagar and Sankar Nagar are just a few metres from the Avadi Municipality office. Adding to the woes of residents is the draining of waste water from a few houses into the incomplete sewage network, resulting in several manholes overflowing with sewage, posing a health hazard to the residents of Jeeva Nagar and Sankar Nagar. T. Mohammed, a resident of Sankar Nagar, said several residents in their locality had illegally connected their drainage to the sewage network and the municipal authorities remain blind to this problem.
