Brits have battled persistent rain over the past few weeks so it's perhaps unsurprising many are looking to escape the bad weather. Although there are several sunny destinations nearby in Europe, it appears people are happy to seek somewhere further away too. Flight searches for routes to Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, have shot up 103 per cent, according to Kayak. The huge surge has been detected for travel between February and March, compared with the same period last year. Hanoi sees average temperatures of around 24°C in February and March - much warmer than the UK.
