The opening minutes of Hulu’s limited series, Saint X, introduce the audience to the standard “dead girl” genre trope. In this case, a blonde and naked white girl is discovered submerged in water in the woods. However, the adaptation of Alexis Schaitkin‘s novel, Saint X, tries to subvert this genre, but it doesn’t quite hit the mark. Overall, while Saint X aims to subvert the “dead girl” trope, it fails to deliver. While there are glimpses of a better show, they are not enough to make Saint X worth watching.
