The Patriots' Rob Gronkowski announced his retirement Sunday via Instagram. “I am so grateful for the opportunity that Mr. Kraft and Coach Belichick gave to me when drafting my silliness in 2010,” Gronkowski wrote. “In the nine years that I have known Rob Gronkowski, I have never known him to have a bad day,” Kraft said in a statement issued by the Patriots. Gronkowski’s retirement leaves a void as Brady plays on and the Patriots seek to add more Super Bowl titles to their collection. “It was a pleasure and a privilege to coach Rob Gronkowski the past nine years,” Belichick said in a statement.
