Roundabout road markings painted with glaring error leaves drivers baffled

The arrows instructing drivers to go anti-clockwise were spotted in Lower King's Road by a reader who sent in photos to Hemel Today. Thankfully the mistake was quickly realised and fixed by Hertfordshire County Council's contractor for highway maintenance. Ringway, the contractor responsible, rectified the mistake at no cost to the council and its divisional manager Kevin Carrol said: "We identified incorrect road markings in Lower King’s Road in Berkhamsted this morning. "Our specialist road marking contractor has rectified the mistake this morning, at no cost to Hertfordshire County Council. It's not the first time road markings have gone wrong, after an angry resident who was fed up with people parking on their road took it on themselves to paint their warnings.
