ACTRESS Ruhainies said her family would continue their tradition of holding Hari Raya open house for a week this year, reported Sinar Harian. “This has been our Hari Raya tradition,” said Ruhainies, whose hometown is in Penang. Ruhainies said her family returned to Penang every year as the Hari Raya atmosphere there was livelier than Kuala Lumpur. “Although he is in London and can’t come home this year, we can still share the joy of Hari Raya with each other in other ways, such as wearing matching outfits on Hari Raya,” she said. He said another reason was that many cooks who know how to prepare traditional Malay delicacies were unwilling to share their recipes.
