SH1 closed after crash near Tirau, one person deadJOHN BISSET/STUFF Police and emergency services are attending a serious accident near Tirau. A male biker died in a serious crash with a car near Tirau, Waikato. The crash, at 8.30pm on Saturday, involved a car and a motorcyclist and happened south of the large roundabout near the SH1 and SH5 intersection. It blocked SH1 between SH5 and Webster Rd. Police thanked witnesses and other members of the public who stopped to assist while emergency services worked at the scene.
