SNP Government have not evaluated success of much lauded baby box in years


The Scottish Government have failed to evaluate how successful its much lauded baby box scheme has been for the past two years. Now, the Scottish Daily Express can reveal that the SNP Executive have not evaluated whether it is working well or worth the multimillion pound outlay on it. The baby box was introduced in 2017 and is handed to all families with new babies, and it is not means tested. And it means that every baby in Scotland literally has the same start in life. The study examined 182,122 births in Scotland in the two years either side of the scheme starting.
