Samira is a polyglot and speaks five languages; Ewe, Ga, Twi, Fanti and her husband’s native tongue, Mamprusi. Her husband, the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in an address at the awards said recognising Muslim heroes was crucial and important to the development of the Muslim communities and the nation at large. He said Government is committed to the development of Muslim and Zongo Communities, hence the institution of the Inner City and Zongo Development Ministry and the Zongo Development Fund aimed at revamping Zongo communities to improve and lift up their standards of living. Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu prayed for peace for the nation and wisdom for the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Dr Bawumia.
