Police have shot an Indigenous man after an alleged altercation in Broome, Western Australia, on Monday night. The shooting occurred about 8.45pm when police reportedly received word of an armed man in the coastal town. In an updated statement on Tuesday, Neil Stanbury, the head of the WA police media unit, alleged the man “threatened police officers with a knife” before he was shot, once.
