The Senate, on Wednesday, confirmed the appointment of Alhaji Muhammad Nami as Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) along with 13 other members of the Board. The confirmation was sequel to the report of the Senate Committee on Finance led by Senator Solomon Adeola which was submitted yesterday. Findings revealed that before yesterday confirmation, the FIRS was without a substantive board for seven years. The immediate executive chairman of the agency, Tunde Fowler administered the revenue-generating agency without a substantive board. Other members of the FIRS board included James Yakwen Ayuba (North Central), Ado Danjuma (North West), Adam Baba Mohammed (North East), Ikeme Osakwe (South East), Adewale Ogunyomade (South West), and Ehile Adetola Aibangbee (South-South).
