Senators divided over Speaker Tyler removal, Signs Resolution Recognizing His Authority -


By: Eldred Wlemongar Thomas/GNN Legislative ReporterJust few days after it declared a neutral position on the wrangling at the House of Representatives, twelve Senators have signed a resolution recognizing the group of lawmakers in support of Speaker Alex Tyler. The Senators in the resolution issued Tuesday August 30, 2016 in Monrovia observed that their position to do Legislative business with the constitutionally elected Speaker Tyler is based on Article 29 and 49 of the Liberian Constitution. Those Senators that signed the resolution include: Sando Johnson of Bomi County, Alphoso Gaye of Grand Gedeh, Francis Paye of Rivercess, and Oscar Cooper of Margibi. A copy of the resolution in the possession of Global News Network showed that Senators Marshall Dennis of Grand Gedeh and Dan Morias of Maryland counties did signed the resolution. According to our Legislative reporter, Senator Marshall Dennis has distanced himself, while Senator Dan Morias is yet state reason (s) why he did not signed the resolution.
