Regarding Peter W. Wood and Dion J. Pierre’s “Segregation by Design on Campus” (April 30): Why is anyone surprised? The defeat of the American ideal of integration and assimilation by diversity and identity politics leads to social outcomes exactly as Messrs. Wood and Pierre describe. As individual groups are isolated by gender, race and religion, they become ideological, each clamoring and fighting among each other for their rightful piece of the economic and political pies.
