KUALA LUMPUR: The spotlight is once again on a Defence Ministry clerk who caused an uproar when he kicked a woman two months ago. Magistrate Ahmad Solihin Abd Wahid sentenced Marmi Zabrin Mian, 33, to three months’ jail yesterday for kicking 28-year-old Shakira Mohd Khalid, a secretary in Bukit Aman, in the back for no apparent reason. In the earlier incident, he kicked a Bank Negara employee on a pedestrian bridge. Marmi committed the latest offence at the tunnel connecting Jalan Cenderasari to Dayabumi here at 5.30pm last Tuesday. Deputy public prosecutor Ahmad Zikri Jaafar urged the court to jail Marmi as he was a repeat offender, saying: “You can’t go around kicking people for no reason.” — Bernama
