The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) says it will implement new recovery measures to force more than 85,000 Kenyans to repay Sh 8.5 Billion owed to the board. He says the government has given HELB sh 9.1 Billion to disburse to students this year. Ringera says the board will be able to sustain itself without relying on government funding if defaulters pay more than Sh 8 Billion owed to HELB. Ringera says even those who have moved to live or work abroad will have to repay the education loans they were given by the board. CEO of the board Charles Ringera says they make target business or property owned by those who the board in order to force them repay the money.
