Egypt President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi warned on Saturday that Iranian attacks on Bahrain represent a “serious threat to regional security” and open the door to further escalation and chaos. The Iranian attacks came in retaliation for US and Israeli strikes on Iran. In a telephone call with King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Sisi affirmed Egypt’s full solidarity with the leadership and people of Bahrain. King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa valued Egypt’s supportive position and praised the close relations between the two countries. He also emphasised the importance of joint Arab coordination to face current challenges and safeguard Arab national security.
