A team of Bashir’s family lawyers led by Charles Madowo, who also attended the autopsy, said all the signs on the body of the Somali-American showed he died a painful death. The exercise was conducted by chief state pathologist Johansen Oduor alongside two private pathologists representing the family of the victim. The family vowed not to rest until those responsible for Bashir’s death are brought to book. Days later, a shell of a burnt motor vehicle was spotted in Kibiku and a dealer who had been informed of the same alerted police. Police photos show the car was burnt and corroded beyond recognition and it is not clear who was behind it or if there was an occupant.
