Southwest monsoon to bring rains over PH


MANILA, Philippines — The southwest monsoon will bring scattered rains and thunderstorms in some areas in the country on Tuesday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said. The weather bureau said the southwest monsoon will affect Northern and Central Luzon, bringing cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Ilocos provinces, Batanes and Babuyan Islands. ADVERTISEMENTMetro Manila and the rest of the country will likewise have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers brought about by the southwest monsoon and localized thunderstorms. Moderate to strong winds in the southwest direction will prevail over the northern and western parts of Northern Luzon, with moderate to rough sea waters. Light to moderate winds from southeast to southwest and slight to moderate coastal waters will likewise prevail over the rest of the country.
