The Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang’ula has urged Kisii Governor, Simba Arati and Kisii Senator, Richard Onyonka to work together to deliver their campaign promises to the residents. The two leaders had previously differed over the running of the county affairs, with the Senator coming out strongly to criticize the Governor’s style of leadership. Speaking during a fundraiser in Bonchari Constituency, Wetang’ula said the rift between the two leaders is likely to negatively impact the well-being of the voters who entrusted them with those seats. Further, the Speaker urged the residents to allow the political leaders to deliver their mandate adding that they will evaluate the leaders’ performance at the end of the five years. Wetang’ula also called upon the two levels of government, both national and county governments, to work interdependently and collaboratively to promote development in the country.
