Sri Lanka's Cabinet today approved a proposed ban on wearing the burqa in public two years after ISIS terrorists killed 260 people in bombings of churches and hotels. The most deadly blasts were at the two Roman Catholic churches, the Shrine of St Anthony and St Sebastian's, where 171 worshippers were killed. The Cabinet's approval of the proposed burqa ban comes despite the UN special rapporteur on freedom on religion or belief saying it would violate international law.
