A premature twin baby who was declared dead by Max hospital in Shalimar Bagh passed away on Wednesday, raising a series of questions over our existing legal system. Till now, if a person faces any medical negligence, the family registers a complaint with Delhi police and takes up the matter to Union Health Ministry. “We need some stringent laws that can set an example for such medical negligence cases. The most common negligence cases involve baby deliveries or needles left in the abdomen. “It is important that the MCI becomes more strict in granting registration to medical practitioners and accreditation to private medical colleges.
