Structured interviews for recruiting principals for Sri Lanka Principals’ Service

Cabinet approval has been granted to select suitable candidates through a structured interview instead of the competitive examination held for the recruitment to Grade III of the Sri Lanka Principals’ Service. The government says it has taken nearly a year to conduct a competitive examination, face-to-face examination and make formal appointments in the face of the Covid epidemic in the country. Accordingly, those who have been qualified in the teaching service for a long time and other members of the teaching service who are qualified in accordance with the service minutes can also appear for the Grade III recruitment interviews for the principal service. There are 4,600 vacancies for grades I, II and III in the Principal Service. Accordingly, the proposal made by Education Minister G. L. Peiris to proceed with the relevant activities, was approved by the Cabinet.
