GEORGE TOWN: A 19-year-old student was seriously injured in a crash involving an ambulance and two other vehicles near Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). “Police received a report at 1.06pm on the accident involving several vehicles in front of USM,” he said in a statement on Friday. The incident resulted in a chain-reaction crash involving the ambulance and two cars. Also injured were the 51-year-old ambulance driver and three medical assistants — two men and a woman aged between 35 and 41 — who suffered minor injuries. Supt Lee said the ambulance was not carrying a patient at the time but was on the way to pick one up.
