A report recently published by The Times Of India claimed that Sweden has officially declared sex as a sport, with the first-ever European Sex Championship scheduled to take place in Gothenburg on June 8. The competition will take place over six weeks and will be under the guidance of the Swedish Sex Federation. The judges will evaluate several aspects of the sexual activity, including the chemistry between the couple, knowledge about sex, and endurance level. Therefore, it is only logical for people to start competing in this domain as well.” Recognizing sex as a sport was inevitable, Bratych added. However, a report by Göteborg-Posten, a news portal based in Gothenburg, Sweden, states that Riksidrottsförbundet (RF – the Swedish Sports Confederation), the umbrella organization in charge of supporting and developing sports in Sweden, rejected the Swedish Sex Federation’s application in April.
