A 2.26m Chinese basketball player will be the tallest athlete to compete in the NBL when he arrives in Australia. Chuanxing Liu, nicknamed Big Liu, signed a two-year deal with the Brisbane Bullets starting from the 2021/2022 season. The 7ft 5in giant starred for China's national team in this year's Olympic qualifying tournament and was a key player for the Qingdao Eagles of the Chinese Basketball Association. 'Having a player from the Chinese National program brings added depth to our squad and additionally opens up a whole new fan base for the Bullets as the NBL's global audience continues to grow.' Liu's height surpasses the former tallest NBL player Sam Harris who came in at 7'3" and starred for the Perth Wildcats and the Adelaide 36ers.
