P. Gopi Chand, PBL governing council member, looks forward to emerging Indian talent benefiting from a team format alongside world stars. At the launch of PBL Season-4, the National coach pointed out that learning to operate as a team during shifting match situations in an individual sport would strengthen participating players for international competition. In the league format, each player has a specific role to play. It is a great opportunity for the youngsters to spend time and train with legends of the game. PBL has also introduced a fantasy league and I am confident such fan-engagement ideas will go a long way in promoting the sport.
