Teen facing charges after bus driver stabbed multiple times at Mill Woods Transit Centre

At approximately 3:40 a.m. on Wednesday, police officers responded to the Mill Woods Transit Centre, where they found a 65-year-old bus driver with “serious, but non-life-threatening” injuries. Mark Tetterington, president of Amalgamated Transit Union Local 569, told StarMetro on Wednesday that a teen had approached the driver sitting in a bus and asked for a ride. The driver called the control centre, who told him they would send a peace officer to pick the person up. That’s when the boy allegedly stabbed the driver, according to Tetterington. Apparently, he made his way to the washroom in the transit centre and phoned 911, told them he’d been stabbed,” he said Wednesday.
