The 68th sugarcane threshing season of Thakurgaon Sugar Mills Ltd. was inaugurated on Saturday by dumping sugarcane in a donga at the "Cane Carrier" premises of the sugar mill. The inaugural ceremony, organised by Thakurgaon Sugar Mills Ltd., was presided over by the Managing Director (MD) of the mill Md. During the time, various senior officials and employees of Thakurgaon Sugar Mill, Panchagarh Sugar Mill, Setabganj Sugar Mill were present. In the 2024-2025 planting season, there are 6,060 acres of standing sugarcane, and the target of sugarcane planting is 6,500 acres in the season of 2025-2026. Thakurgaon Sugar Mill has been occupying the first or second place in sugar production among all the sugar mills across the country by maintaining a relatively high level of sugar quality and extraction.
