An ActionAid UK led initiative is tackling the root causeAma was 14 when she was abducted on her way home from school in the Upper West region of Ghana. For over a decade it has supported a global network of Combat (community based anti-violence team) squads that have a track record of successfully confronting the perpetrators of forced child marriage in 17 countries, with 65 squads in Ghana alone. For Ama, the Combat squads were life changing. They are trained by both ActionAid UK and the local police. Please donate to support women and girls to live full, safe, and healthy lives, regardless of where they are born.
