The 69th Berlin International Film Festival is set to begin this week, on February 7, 2019, and will last for ten days until February 17. The festival hosts the European Film Market, which is the world’s second-largest film market. The festival will also be showing Agnès Varda’s latest film Varda par Agnès (Varda by Agnès), which is out of competition. The jury includes the Los Angeles Times film critic Justin Chang, the actress Sandra Hüller, the film director Sebastián Lelio, the Chief Curator of Film at the Museum of Modern Art in New York Rajendra Roy and the actress/producer/director Trudie Styler. He will be replaced by Carlo Chatrian, who has been artistic director for the Locarno Film Festival for many years, and Mariette Rissenbeck.
