The endangered Florida panther, listed under the Endangered Species Act, is under threat from development that reduces its habitat. The Florida Wildlife Corridor is a team of conservationists, filmmakers, and biologists, working to protect wildlife corridors – pathways that enable wildlife to move through areas without any development. A documentary film, called “Path of the Panther”, tells the story of the fight to protect the endangered panther from the adverse effects of encroaching development. Governor Ron DeSantis signed the Florida Wildlife Corridor Act with unanimous support, protecting ten million acres of land in 2021. Taking care of the environment and protecting wildlife species is essential to maintain biodiversity and protect the species’ survival.
