Read this in The Manila Times digital edition. THIS year, the Philippines and Germany celebrate 50 years of development cooperation that started with the signing of a bilateral agreement in 1971. The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH implements development cooperation in more than 120 countries, including the Philippines, on behalf of the German government and other partners. "Conflicts, climate change, and Covid-19 show us how closely connected the lives of people around the world are," says GIZ Philippines' Acting Country Director Björn Surborg. "GIZ is honored to support partnerships that contribute to the achievement of sustainable development."
