Fifty-seven years ago Queen Victoria’s eldest son drove from St James’s Palace to The Times Office to observe at first hand how a great newspaper is produced. Yesterday her great-grandson, the Prince of Wales, paid a similar visit. Time has wrought many changes in Printing House Square since the day, a year after the Great Fire of London, when it was chosen as the site of the King’s Printing House.
