Despite the knowledge that human milk is the normal food for human babies only 28.3 percent of Filipino babies are exclusively breastfed for the first six months. The mothers end up spending their hard earned money on buying artificial milk (milk formula), bottled water, sterilizing equipment, and feeding materials. The time tested method of feeding human babies is through breastfeeding with human milk. The impact of not breastfeeding has a significant impact of public health.
