Thousands still without power in wake of Storm Dave

Up to 18,000 homes were still out of power overnight and early this morning in the wake of Storm Dave but crews slashed this number by around 5,000 by 8am. One of the biggest faults was in Nenagh in Tipperary, affecting 1,275 customers. Other faults being dealt with this morning included a number in Kerry, affecting around 150 people, and two in Thurles, affecting another 150 or so people. However, ESB Networks crews expect to restore power to most areas by the end of the day. The storm has also had an impact on planned flights to and from Dublin Airport.
