Hamidur Rahman, proctorial team member of Dhaka University said: “We noticed a huge flame while we were patrolling in front of the university’s central library which is some 350 metres away. Firefighters initially assumed that sweepers might have set fire to the dry leaves as part of burning waste but the fire caught the nearby years-old trees. There is no chance of Dhaka University sweepers being involved with the incident,” he added.
