PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds across seven states, effective until 5pm on Thursday (Apr 9). MetMalaysia, in a statement issued at 2.15pm, said the weather conditions are expected to affect Kedah, specifically in Padang Terap, Sik and Baling. In Perak, the affected areas include Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Manjung, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim. The warning also covers Jeli, Machang and Pasir Puteh in Kelantan, while in Terengganu, the districts involved are Besut, Setiu, Hulu Terengganu, Dungun and Kemaman. In Sabah, the warning covers the Interior (Sipitang, Beaufort and Tambunan) and the West Coast, including Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu and Tuaran.
