Celebrations to mark Burnham Library’s half centenary began on Monday, October 3, with a trip down memory lane to 1973. With each week throughout October a new decade will be celebrated with lots of ‘80s, ‘90s and noughties- themed activities in store. Keen Burnham historians can attend a talk on ‘The History of Burnham Library’ on Tuesday, October 24, delivered by the chairman of the Friends of Burnham Library, Andrew Strathdee. And on Saturday, October 28 a revamped Children’s Area will be opened and a time capsule entitled ‘Memories of Burnham Library’ will be buried. Clive Harriss, cabinet member for culture and leisure at Buckinghamshire Council, said: “We are delighted to help Burnham Community Library mark its milestone 50th anniversary.
